There comes a time in every good pump systems’ life where what once was adequate is now not good enough.  The flow needs to increase, the lines get extended, or the operators just need that bit of extra momentum on the discharge.  As pump experts, this isn’t the end of the world, we have several levers we can pull to help get that extra bit of pressure out of the pump and increase discharge pressure of centrifugal pumps to meet the new systems requirements.

When purchasing a new pumping system, or upgrading an existing one, often the main considerations is the upfront cost of the pump itself.  Although the capital cost only equals about 10% of the lifetime costs, there are other factors, such as spare parts, downtime, operational costs, and maintenance which are all important  variables to consider.

To maintain optimal pump performance for longer, it is important to service your pump regularly, and ensure it's accessible for regular servicing including: removing sections of pipe work, maintaining sufficient cooling around the pump and having the required space for lifting equipment.
