Facing challenges with pump breakdowns? Discover how we addressed issues with a Verderflex VF80 pump at a major gold and antimony mine in Victoria. This case study provides practical insights and solutions that could improve your own pump maintenance strategy.

The Challenge

The Verderflex VF80 pump, used as a slurry concentrate pump in a gold mining operation in Victoria, Australia, had been in service for about 4 years. While initially reported faults were in the motor and gearbox, our inspection uncovered additional wear on other components.

The Solution

Our technicians at our Adelaide workshop conducted a comprehensive inspection of the pump. It was disassembled, cleaned, and inspected to assess the full extent of the damage.

We replaced the mining-spec motor, gearbox and a few other components to restore the pump to its original condition.

After reassembling the pump, we filled it with fresh lubricant and and performed rigorous testing to ensure it was functioning properly. The pump was then painted and sent back to the customer.

The Result

The repaired Verderflex VF80 pump was successfully reintegrated into the customer's gold mining operation.
